10 Years ago, the Blank Canvas Theatre opened with The Texas Chainsaw Musical. Not only did it begin their reputation as a theatre who strived to showcase both traditional and eclectic plays, but it also set our play on a trajectory, giving it legitimacy. Until then, we had been workshopping the show.
Under the extraordinary direction of Patrick Ciamocco, the Cleveland Plain Dealer named The Texas Chainsaw Musical one of the top 10 shows of 2012.
Since then, The Texas Chainsaw Musical has been produced around the country multiple times and has become a staple for theaters to use as their Halloween show and the Blank Canvas Theatre has won many accolades for it’s amazing productions of plays from the normal (12 Angry Men) to the bizarre (The Toxic Avenger)
Theater has taken a hit due to Covid-19 and that includes our show. The last production was in 2018 at the Barnstormers Theatre.
To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of both the theater and the play, the Blank Canvas Theatre will be performing the show in October 2021. They’ll be performing October 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 28th, 29th, and 30th. You can grab your tickets here and get yourself a seat in the splatter zone; you’ll have a bloody good time!
The authors, Christopher Minori and Cory Bytof will be at the Blank Canvas Theatre answering questions and signing autographs!
